rain or shine

i went out to the mall with a friend this past saturday. so nice to get out.

i was on the lookout for a raincoat for sweet cheeks. now that she takes a bus to afterschool, i thought she could use one just in case a gray cloud follows her overhead.

here is what i ended up getting for her from gap kids-

a long windbreaker jacket

(the word "windbreaker" seriously makes me giggle)

i also walked out with an outfit for her. i like the idea of her in colors other than the usual pinks/purples/whites -

a black cowlneck tunic
gray/black mix stripe leggings

i also walked away with this sweet and comfy striped top for myself, which i already wore yesterday with some leggings.

i can't believe that in a week or so i am going to be taking sweet cheeks for her 1st ever elementary school back-to-school shopping trip! i am so excited about the shopping, even if it is uniform attire. wish i felt the same about elementary school.

so far all that sweet cheeks and i have picked out are these shoes from garnet hill. we still need to get her a pair of sneakers for gym but we'll get to that later.

both pairs are a bit hippy looking but in a much more stylish, cute, not so earthy and crunchy kind of way! glad sweet cheeks and i agree on shoes and clothes most of the time. makes it so much easier to shop.
